Little Daisy Community Education Program

Learning Through Film
During the summer break, many parents still had to work, so they left their children needing a place to spend the day. The community service center offered a place where they could keep learning, explore their interests, and spend time with peers.

I joined the afternoon sessions, tutoring children with their homework before moving on to activities beyond the classroom. From drawing and crafts to movies and games, each activity offered a different way for them to learn, create, and relax.

This experience gave me a glimpse into what it means to be a teacher. Beyond leading activities, there were lesson materials to prepare, classroom behavior to manage, and reflections to write afterward. I began to appreciate how much thought and effort go into creating a meaningful learning experience. At the same time, I genuinely enjoyed sharing what I know and the things I love with the children. It was rewarding to turn something I was familiar with into something others could learn from and enjoy.

A Classroom Example:
Weaving Emotions
A Creative Workshop on Emotional Expression

I designed a creative activity that invited children to explore their emotions through color, paper, and weaving. By transferring their feelings into visual patterns, they could reflect on their emotions through a hands-on creative process. I wanted to explore how children could express their feelings beyond words. Because some may find it difficult to put their emotions into language, I designed Weaving Emotions as an alternative way for them to express themselves through color and creativity. By drawing how they felt, cutting their artwork into strips, and weaving the pieces together, they could turn their emotions into something visual and personal.
